Right from the early stages of planning for the Soldier and Sailors Memorial Auditorium, the Chattanooga Music Club assumed an active role, as the club wanted plans to include space for an organ. In December 1922, the Music Club inaugurated a campaign to see that an organ would be installed, and a committee was named to implement that objective.

The opening recital was played on February 12, 1925, to an capacity audience of over 4,000 people. The organ, throughout its history, has been used for many functions. The Chattanooga Music club hopes that persons interested will join us in this worthy goal in the restoration of the organ.
